                                                         AVMET SERVICES, INC.

Avmet Services, Inc. was formed in November, 2000 to provide weather observing and augmentation for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS), which was installed by the Agency at most airports across the Country. We also provide Upper Air observation services to the National Weather Service (NWS) and for the DOD at Vandenberg AFB in California.

We provide trained, certified observers to monitor the ASOS-generated observations, making changes to them as needed. The observers must take manual observations with the equipment provided, in the event of an ASOS failure. Accurate observations are essential to the safe operation of an airport and are an integral part of the air traffic control system.

All observers must be certified by the National Weather Service (NWS) by successfully completing a comprehensive exam.
